Reporting Business

In a Nutshell

You work as a freelancer providing banking and insurance companies with reports about assets that they are dealing with. You need to get to the location, snap some pictures and fill in a form, then send it back to the company that made the order.

The Longer Version

Banking and insurance companies need to check on the status of the various assets they are dealing with. In many cases, they are actively looking for reliable people to simply check on houses, businesses and vehicles. Work entails visiting a location, taking a few photographs and filling in a simple form. The companies usually pay by assignments and payment can be anything between $10 to as much as $100 per assignment, depending on your location and the scope of the assignment.

You will have to spend several hours a day outside the house, but usually no contact with people is needed to complete the assignment – all you need to do is have a look and take a picture. No dressing code for this job… This is a great work from home idea! While not necessarily a career as such, it does let you own your own business and develop your income in your spare time. It best suits those of us who actually want to get out of the house and spend time outdoors as part of running their home based business.

How do you get started? You need to contact insurance and banking companies and offer your services.

What Do You Need?

You will need a decent digital camera, though not necessarily a very expensive one. If you already have a computer than that's all you need. If you don't, a used low-end computer should be enough.

So... How Much will I Make?

Your income depends on how much work you manage to contract and at what fees. Overall, if you manage to run 100 assignments a month at an average fee of $20 each, you should be able to make around $2,000.
